Southern Cornbread
1 CUP CORNMEAL
1 CUP FLOUR 1 TSP. SALT
3 1/2 TSP BAKING POWDER
1 EGG (BEATEN)
1 CUP MILK
1/4 CUP SHORTENING
COMBINE DRY INGREDIENTS, ADD EGG AAND MILK
PUT SHORTENING IN A 10″ IRON SKILLET IN A 425 DEGREE OVEN. WHEN SHORTENING IS HOT, POUR IT INTO THE CORNMEAL MIX AND
THEN POUR THE MIX INTO THE GREASED IRON SKILLET.
BAKE ABOUT 30 MINUTES.
